This answer may vary, as each person is different. However, some common signs that someone might benefit from counseling may include experiencing overwhelming emotions, experiencing unmanageable distress, facing significant life changes, or dealing with relationship problems.

How does the counseling process work?

The process starts with the diagnostic evaluation or an intake. The frequency of sessions may vary depending on the client’s particular needs.

How long does each counseling session last?

Most sessions last for about 53-60 minutes. However, depending on the client's needs, sessions may be shorter or longer than this time frame. For example, sessions may last 30, 45, 60, and 90 minutes.

What is your approach to counseling?

I adopt an eclectic therapy approach, meaning I do not incorporate a single theoretical orientation. Within this approach, I read the room and meet clients where they are to ensure the appropriate counseling approaches are incorporated into sessions. The needed takeaway for therapy may look different for each client, leading to my thought that therapy is a no one-size-fits-all concept.
